“Make Your desires mine”
I realized something a few years ago that made me stop and rethink how I prayed. Everyone has desires. There is nothing wrong with that. His word says He will give us the desires of our hearts. I have no problem bringing my desires to my Heavenly Father. I know He loves me and wants the best for me.
One day while praying I had a profound moment. I realized I’d been praying for God’s will, but I really meant my will to be done. In that moment I changed my prayer to this:
Father, change me. Take my desires and give me Yours.
When we let go of what we think we want and seek His desires for us, we find ourselves in His perfect will. There’s no better place to be.
