Internationally published author Tammy Kirby is a member of the American Christian Fiction Writers, and a registered nurse of 29 years. Her debut novel, an inspirational Victorian romance, His Grace Forgiven, the first book in her Haven House Series, released in 2018 and placed second in the New Beginnings Contest.
When she’s not writing, she enjoys tweaking healthy recipes to get the most taste for the least calories and learning about plants and their medicinal uses, just in case she might have to make her own medicines. She loves to can produce and meat like her ancestors did. With the right cooking implements, she can bake biscuits in the ground. Her newest project is learning to speak Gaelic, because she wants to read a Gaelic Bible.
Other things of interest to her are playing about with genealogy and traveling in the USA and abroad. Scotland is her favorite place to visit, especially Culloden battlegrounds in Inverness, where she feels a connection to her Scottish ancestors that is almost spiritual.
A free spirit, Tammy loves almost all historical genres. When told she must stick to one genre in writing, she wondered Why? I have so many stories that take place in other times. As usual, in her walk with Christ, she asked Him and found out He didn’t make that rule. So, you can always expect the unexpected from Tammy’s writing.
She has several short stories published in anthologies that range from contemporary romance in Louisiana and Texas to historical romance in the Scottish Highlands, with many more places and times to be visited in the near future. She hopes you’ll join her on her adventures.
She lives in North East Louisiana with her husband, spending her time on the front lines working as an Emergency Room Nurse, offering care and support to hurting people and writing beneath the surface about how God can take any problem and turn it around to our good and His glory.
